In 1950s America, Lanny Morris (Bacon) and Vince Collins (Firth) are a popular and successful entertainment double-act, when a scandalous murder mystery suddenly ends their careers and their partnership. 15 years later, writer Karen O'Connor (Alison Lohman) is researching the case for a story, and she begins to investigate the former showbiz partners.
