In 1950s America, Lanny Morris (Bacon) and Vince Collins (Firth) are a popular and successful entertainment double-act, when a scandalous murder mystery suddenly ends their careers and their partnership. 15 years later, writer Karen O'Connor (Alison Lohman) is researching the case for a story, and she begins to investigate the former showbiz partners. But when she becomes more involved with the case, and sexually involved with both men, it becomes more difficult for her to accepting the disturbing truth about them, and about herself.
