Chillingham Castle is a dark foreboding and frightening place with twisting stairways dark corridors and dank dungeons. It's inner courtyard is one of the most atmospheric backdrops in England. It started life as a 12th century tower house and by 1246 the Grey family were in occupation guarding the border between Scotland and England. 750 years later they are still in occupation. Henry III Edward I and James I all stayed here. By 1344 Chillingham became the crenulated castle you see today. Its ghost stories are not new and go back many years. A booklet was written in 1925 by Leonora Tankerville telling of her experiences when she came to live in one of the most haunted castles in Britain. Join Richard Felix and Ghost Hunter Bob Buxton as they take you on a haunted tour of Chillingham Castle.
No artist has so dominated country music as Webb Pierce. Most Nashville stars credit their musical inspirations to Hank Lefty and Webb. Born in 1926 on a farm near Monroe Louisiana Webb was the first artist to dress in rhinestone suits and with gaudy showmanship built the first guitar-shaped swimming pool and drove silver dollar studded cars. For eight years he was voted the number one country singer. No one but Webb Pierce can claim 69 hit songs in a row. Shortly before his death in 1991 Webb personally created from rare film performances a compilation of his greatest hits narrating and providing background on the songs writers and their origins. Dudley Castle stands on top of a lofty limestone crag and was originally built in 1071 as a wooden mote and bailey castle. It was refortified in stone in the 13th century by the de Sonnery family one of whom still haunts the castle to this day. In the mid 16th century it came into the possession of the ill-fated John Dudley father-in-law of Lady Jane Grey (the Nine Days Queen). He sanctioned building the magnificent and haunted Sharington range much of which can still be seen today. John Dudley his son and Lady Jane were all beheaded by Bloody Mary. Although he did not die in the castle his ghost still haunts his beloved home and is often seen by staff and visitors. Dudley Castle is very close to Richard Felix's heart as this was the venue of the very first Most Haunted Live and was Richard's first appearance on Most Haunted.
