Soon the changes in her sister's behavior and appearance begin to cause concern and Ji-hyeon soon comes to the conclusion that the wig is in fact cursed and is manipulating its new owner in order to fulfill its own terrifying purpose. Reminiscent of A Tale of Two Sisters in its visual style The Wig is another quality fright fest from the best in the business.

Instead of the barely intelligable English typically spoken by Chinese actors in British drama Yip's accent has a strong Cockney influence. Ho fits the pattern of the maverick detective prepared to use unorthodox methods to solve his cases which emerged in series like Z Cars (BBC 1962-78) and further developed in The Sweeney.
