| RRP I don't think anyone has commanded my respect more. The first time I heard Stevie Ray I thought 'Whoever this is he is going to shake the world' (Eric Clapton). Stevie Ray Vaughan's playing style is well-liked by a rock audience too. Vaughan's sound and playing style which often features simultaneous lead and rhythm parts also draws frequent comparisons to that of Jimi Hendrix; but Vaughan wasn't a cheap copy 16 years after his death his popularity is unbroken. . | RRP It's Time To Thumble! This is the first series of the all conquering children's TV sensation which is sweeping the world Thumb Wrestling Federation! A long time ago when wrestlers wore speedos and had back hair the four corners of the thumb wrestling ring were a place of heroic deeds of fair competition of honour. The brackets were made the bells polished and rung and the scores kept all by the wise thumbs of the Thumb Wrestling Federation. The TWF was presided over by Newt Knuckle one of the sport's pioneers and its elder statesman. All was ""A okay thumbs up!"" the old timers would say with a glint in their nails. Thumbs up that is until a young upstart named Page Boy Skull decided to give the whole thing the finger. Page Boy Skull was a young man in a hurry. He didn't read the record books and he didn't respect the old timers the greats that built the sport thumbs like Newt Knuckle Colonel Cossack and Phineas D. Finger. Page Boy Skull didn't want to work his way through the brackets by wrestling exhibition bouts in places like Thumboldt Texas and Thumbleweed Montana. Page Boy Skull didn't have the time. He wanted it all and he wanted it now. When Newt Knuckle thumbed his nose at Page Boy Skull's demand to be included on the Thumb Wrestling Federation's governing council Skull led a revolt. In a tragedy that rivaled the Great Thumb Fire of 1881 the Thumb Wrestling Federation was split in two. Those with respect and with honor joined the Mighty Dexteras. Those with less than a thimble full of decency joined the evil Sinistras. In the ensuing turmoil Newt Knuckle and Phineas D. Finger disappeared while other old timers like Colonel Cossack threw in the towel. Renaming himself to reflect his newly acquired status Page Boy Skull became Senator Skull leader of the Sinistras. As wrestlers battle to fill the power vacuum left by the disappearance of the TWF Legends Senator Skull and the Sinistras will stop at nothing to defeat the Mighty Dexteras take over the Thumb Wrestling Federation and perhaps... the world! | RRP Whoever was responsible for putting Smells Like Teen Spirit on heavy MTV rotation in 1992 was probably unaware that this would be the starting gun for a new era of alternative rock. It is anybody's guess what made him or her bet on this weird horse that seemed far out of the usual line of mainstream music video fare but it earned MTV the jackpot. During most of the video a dishevelled unenthusiastic guy waves his blond shoulder-length hair before the camera while he struts a four-chord riff song. Nevertheless Seattle-based Nirvana hit the raw nerve of the Zeitgeist to become the (stage-managed) mouthpiece of their generation. Whether intended or not is open to debate but one thing seems certain: guitarist and singer/songwriter Kurt Cobain probably didn't set out to become a role model for millions of teenagers in the first place. Said that fiercely self-confident Cobain (I always knew I do something special) had been a determined and relentless fighter for a life of fame glory and rock 'n' roll since his beginnings as a musician.
