| RRP THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1918 (DVD): THE GREAT WAR USHERED IN THE 20TH CENTURY. IT WAS THE WAR TO END ALL WARS, A SENSELESS SLAUGHTER THAT SET THE STAGE FOR THE BLOODIEST CENTURY IN HUMAN HISTORY. Yet, it was more than just a war between nationals. It was a war between what was and what was to be. The old world was dying and the new world had yet to be born. People of all classes saw it was some great cleansing fire that would accelerate this battle and lead to a better world. But when it was over, more than men had died in the mud of the battlefields; the naive dreams of progress, along with the innocence of the pre-world war, faith in God and hope in the future all died in the trenches of Europe. The Concise History of WWI (LITTLE BOOK): On 28 June 1914 in Sarajevo, a Bosnian Serb student shot the heir to the throne of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The assassination plunged the world into a global conflict that was to scar human history and redefine the meaning of the word war . The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand provided the spark that ignited smouldering enmities, but World War I had been a long time coming. Decades of burgeoning imperialism and the formation of complex alliances brought the world s great powers face to face in what would become known as the Great War. More than seventy million military personnel were mobilised during World War I and more than nine million of them died. The grim figures also included twenty million wounded and eight million missing in action. When the war ended in 1918, four empires had ceased to exist, the map of Europe had been redrawn and a generation of young men had been lost. The combatants had given their all, but their valiant sacrifice was in vain. This book tells the story of the conflict dubbed the war to end wars .

| RRP Ayrton Senna was born into a wealthy Brazilian family. He competed in 161 Grand Prix over ten years. And he took 64 Pole Positions, winning a massive 41 of them. He has been described as being charismatic, singleminded, and totally focused, as well as lauded by his peers as an extraordinary driver, and an extraordinary person . Aryton Senna was the idol for millions of Formula One fans, one of them being current champion Lewis Hamilton, who lists Senna alongside Alain Prost as his heroes. To so many of his fans and colleagues, he is remembered as one of the greatest Formula One champions of all time. Senna became interested in racing car driving at an early age. So much so that he entered a Brazilian Cart competition at the age of thirteen. By 1977 he had won the South American Cart Championship, and contested the World Carting Championship on several occasions, finishing second in 1979 and 1980. In 1981 he moved to England with his wife Lilly-Ann, and began racing single-seaters in Europe, winning the British Formula Four 1600 Championship. He followed that up with wins in the British and European F4 2000 Championships in 1982. He moved onto F1 racing in 1984, meeting future rival, talented French driver Alain Prost for the first time. Senna drove for Tollman, Lotus, McLaren and finally Williams Renault during his illustrious but short 10 year F1 career, winning 3 World Titles. The San Marino Grand Prix was, according to Senna, where his 1994 season would start, with 14 races, as opposed to 16, in which to win the title. Despite this, the GP got off to a bad start, with Senna s protégé, Rubens Varicello, involved in a serious accident and unable to continue to race. The next day the Austrian driver Roland Ratzenberger was killed in a accident during practice. As a result of this, Senna founded the Grand Prix Driver s Association, aimed at making driving conditions safer at the Formula One level. A day after Ratzenberger s death, Senna was leading a race around the treacherous Tamburello curve when his car left the track and hit a cement retaining wall at 135 miles an hour. Senna was taken to hospital where he died from his injuries, and was given a state funeral attended by his peers, and most notably, his most fierce rival, Alain Prost. | RRP This is the missing feature to complete the collection from one of the world's best directors of all time. Trafic was Jacques Tati's last outing as the bumbling amiable Monsieur Hulot one of cinema's most beloved comic personas following his appearance in films such as Les Vacances de M. Hulot Mon Oncle and Playtime. In Trafic he accompanies his car firm's new vehicle-an absurd Hulot-esque camper van-to a motor show in Amsterdam. This prescient satire on a man's obsession with motorised transport mixes wonderful observational comedy with laugh-out-loud moments. Tati's typically subtle choreography of people and objects is a rewarding lesson in how to see the world anew.
