Directed by David Fairhead Armstrong is the definitive life story of Neil Armstrong: from his childhood in rural Ohio, through his near death experiences in aerial combat in the Korean War, pushing the limits as an experimental test pilot through to those historic first steps on the Moon and the unwanted celebrity status that ensued. In his own words David said Telling this story is a documentary filmmaker's dream. When Neil made his small step onto the lunar surface, it marked his transformation from mere man to global celebrity something he spent the rest of his life trying to avoid. Through the testimony of colleagues, friends and family we outline his achievements and tell the seemingly familiar, yet little known tale of the First Man on the Moon. Made with the full support of his family, this dramatic, moving and insightful film includes previously unseen homemovie footage shot by Armstrong himself. Neil's own words provide the narration based on his rare interviews, writings and speeches, which are delivered by renowned actor and aviation enthusiast Harrison Ford. Featuring exclusive interviews with his family, fellow astronauts and aviators and those who knew him in his youth and later life, ARMSTRONG is the extraordinary and unique story of a quiet, determined man who became an aviator, astronaut, husband, father and reluctant hero.

  • Gotham S1-5 [DVD] [2019]Gotham S1-5 | DVD | (29/07/2019) from £60.79   |  Saving you £N/A (N/A%)   |  RRP £N/A

With a reputation synonymous with law and order, Commissioner James Gordon is one of the crime world's greatest foes. Everyone knows the name. But what is known of Gordon's rise from rookie detective to Police Commissioner? And what did it take to navigate the layers of corruption that secretly ruled Gotham City, the spawning ground of the world's most iconic villains -- the larger-than-life personas who would become Catwoman, The Penguin, The Riddler, Two-Face and The Joker? GOTHAM is the origin story of the great DC Comics Super-Villains and vigilantes, revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told. From executive producer/writer Bruno Heller (The Mentalist, Rome), this one-hour drama follows one cop's rise through a dangerously corrupt city teetering on the edge of evil and chronicles the genesis of one of the most popular super heroes of our time. Brave, earnest and eager to prove himself, the newly minted detective Gordon (Ben McKenzie) is partnered with the brash, but shrewd police legend Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue), as the two stumble upon the city's highest- profile case ever: the murder of local billionaires Thomas and Martha Wayne. At the scene of the crime, Gordon meets the sole survivor: the Waynes' hauntingly intense 12-year-old son, Bruce (David Mazouz), toward whom the young detective feels an inexplicable kinship. Moved by the boy's profound loss, Gordon vows to catch the killer. As he navigates the often-underhanded politics of Gotham's criminal justice system, Gordon encounters imposing gang boss Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith), and many of the characters who will become some of DC Comics' most renowned, enduring villains, including a teenaged Selina Kyle/the future Catwoman (Camren Bicondova) and Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor). Although the crime drama follows Gordon's turbulent and singular rise through the Gotham City police department, it also focuses on the unlikely friendship Gordon forms with the young heir to the Wayne fortune, who is being raised by his unflappable butler, Alfred (Sean Pertwee) -- a friendship that will last them all of their lives and will play a crucial role in helping the young boy eventually become the crusader he's destined to be.

Brand new restoration from a 4K scan of Don't Look Now, Nicolas Roeg's finest film and arguably, one of the best British films ever made. Starring Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie, this is a brilliant adaptation of a Daphne Du Maurier short story. On a cold, bright autumn day in Suffolk, England, a little girl in a red mackintosh drowns in a pond - the daughter of John and Laura Baxter. Trying to recover from the tragedy, the couple arrive in Venice, Italy, where John has been commissioned to restore a church. In the eerie atmosphere of the lagoon city in winter, they encounter two strange sisters. Laura is suddenly released from her grief when one of them, a blind psychic, tells her that she is in contact with her dead daughter. Angered and skeptical, John carries on with his work, but witnesses an unsettling vision of his own: a little girl in a red mackintosh disappearing into the Venetian alleys. As Venice and his fate closes in on John, illusion, reality and sudden terror spiral the story to its grotesque climax, as the design in director Nicolas Roeg's mosaic becomes unforgettably clear. For the 2019 restoration of Don't Look Now, Studiocanal went back to the original camera negative which was scanned at 4K resolution in 16bit and created the following: 4K DCP, UHD version and a new HD version which were produced with the same high technological standards as today's biggest international film releases. The restoration and new UHD version was colour graded and approved in London by the BAFTA Award-winning cinematographer, Anthony B Richmond.
