His wife Lucy (Isabel Adjani) begs him not to go and is troubled by a strong premonition of danger. Despite her warnings Jonathan arrives four weeks later at a large gloomy castle. Out of the mist appears a pale wraith-like figure with a shaven head and deep sunken eyes who identifies himself as Count Dracula (Klaus Kinski) The events that transpire slowly convince Harker that he is in the midst of a vampire. What he doesn't know however is the magnitude of danger he his wife and his town are about to experience as victims of the Nosferatu. Directed by Werner Herzog a leading figure in German Cinema's 'new wave' of the 1970's Nosferatu is widely recognised as one of the finest films of the vampire genre. A homage to F. W. Murnau's 1922 original Herzog's Nosferatu is driven towards tragedy and visual splendour rather than the gory bloodfests of later remakes. Herzog's frequent leading man and eccentric live wire Klaus Kinski gives a sensational performance as the eerie goblin-like Dracula. Vampires: Out For Blood (Dir. Richard Brandes 2004: In the seedy world of underground raves people are vanishing without trace. Detective Hank Holten (Kevin Dillon) is the only one who knows the terrible truth: vampires are preying on the young party-goers! Vampyres (aka Daughters Of Dracula) (Dir. Jose Ramon Larazz 1974): Fran (Marianne Morris) and Miriam (Anulka Dziubinska) are two beautiful bisexual female vampires who by night roam the English countryside posing as hitchhikers in order to lure unsuspecting men back to their remote country estate where they have sex with their victims before feasting on their blood and killing them. Disposing of the bodies in a series of faked car crashes they the local police baffled by what appears to be a mysterious spate of accidents...

  Painstaking care has been taken to bring Voltron up to modern video standards. Unlike many of the earlier classic 80's cartoon releases Voltron required a different level of restoration work. The show was pieced together from two different Japanese series. Normally the video cleaning process involves going back to the original prints but in this case they simply didn't exist. Starting with new film transfers from Hyaku Juu Oh Golion and Kik'' Kantai Dairugger XV we rebuilt Voltron from the ground up! All of the original footage was color-corrected and given a full revival to remove the imperfections on film. Once the pieces were in place it was time to edit...edit...and edit some more. Every episode now had to be re-created using the originals as guides. So frame by frame and scene by scene Voltron was reborn into existence once more. The video crew of AnimeWorks has taken the greatest of care to revive this classic series that introduced so many of us to Anime. From the far reaches of the galaxy comes the legend of the Lion Force five great weapons that connect to form Voltron a mighty robot dedicated to defending the universe. Meanwhile on planet Earth a Galaxy Alliance maintains peace amongst the planets but a horrible menace threatens that peace and Voltron is needed once again.   Even though Transformers--Generation 2 was released after Transformers Volume 1, it shouldn’t be confused with Transformers--Volume 2. Got that? Good, because Transformers--Generation 2 is a collection that is best left to the completists and die-hard collectors. There’s no denying that the five episodes here ("More Than Meets the Eye Parts One – Three", "SOS Dinobots" and "Heavy Metal War") are all classics. It’s just unfortunate that the versions on offer are from the later Generation 2 series. See, after the Transformers franchise had all but sunk into obscurity, the toys were relaunched and given a new shot at life as Generation 2. And just as the old toys were given new paint jobs, the old episodes were updated and enhanced by the best technology a relatively low-budget production could buy. What this translates into is lots of annoying computer graphics (called the "Cybernet Space Cube") popping up at random intervals to denote a new scene, or even just a change in camera angle or character perspective. The results would test the limits of even the shortest attention spans. So while Transformers--Generation 2 does collect some of the finest episodes of the Transformers cartoon, telling the origin of the heroic Autobots and the evil Decepticons and how they came to earth, as well as introducing the popular Dinobots and Constructicons, it’s ultimately a frustrating experience. Fortunately, there are better Transformers DVDs out there. --Robert Burrow

  After viewing Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Edgar Rice Burroughs wrote to Walt Disney about adapting his novel of an ape-man into a feature animated cartoon. Sixty odd years later, the tale is finally told with brilliant design work that looks unlike any previous animated film. The story is a natural for Disney since the themes of misunderstood central figures have been at the heart of most of its recent hits. Disney's Tarzan doesn't wander far from the familiar story of a shipwrecked baby who is brought up by apes in Africa. What gives the film its zing is its clever use of music (the songs are sung by Phil Collins himself rather than onscreen characters) and the remarkable animation. Deep Canvas, a 3-D technology, was developed for the film, creating a jungle that comes alive as Tarzan swings through the trees, often looking like a modern skateboarder racing down giant tree limbs. The usual foray of sidekicks, including a rambunctious ape voiced by Rosie O'Donnell, should keep the little ones aptly entertained. The two lead voices, Tony Goldwyn as Tarzan and Minnie Driver as Jane, are inspired choices. Their chemistry helps the story through the weakest points (the last third) and makes Tarzan's initial connection with all things human (including Jane) delicious entertainment. Disney still is not taking risks in its animated films, but as cookie-cutter entertainment, Tarzan makes a pretty good treat. On the DVD: It's the dish--mistakes, unused footage, creative differences, embarrassing behind-the-scene stories--that makes collector's editions so much fun. Unfortunately, this goes against the Disney philosophy of picture-perfection, and this two-set disc shows it; only half of the new material is engaging. The other half of this second disc, the "Tarzan Archives," is a slickly produced filler--more publicity fluff than real insight on the development of the film and the animation process. Much better are the three abandoned scenes (with voices and storyboards), including a much fiercer opening and ending, plus dozens of sketches made over the years as the designers pursued the luscious look of the film. The original audio demos Phil Collins made for the film are also intriguing (mostly filled with dummy or place-holding lyrics). The new audio commentary (by the producer and two directors) is a "fireside chat" variety, hardly worth more than one listen. Two side-by-side comparisons of storyboards to final film are a great tool to show youngsters how the animated process works, as is animator Glen Keane's talks on animating Tarzan.
