Blackpool completed another truly memorable victory over Liverpool ruining Kenny Dalglish's first Premier League match in charge and continuing their amazing debut season amongst football's elite. The Tangerine hoardes went home delirious after witnessing a terrific performance earning a deserved three points and ensuring they did the double over Liverpool after winning 2-1 at Anfield earlier in the season for the first time in 64 years. King Kenny's return to the hot seat was supposed to be the spark that reignited the Merseysiders season and it certainly looked that way when Fernando Torres pounced inside three minutes. But lifelong Liverpool fan Gary Taylor-Fletcher and DJ Campbell scored the goals for the Seasiders that ensured Dalglish's start was a miserable start. 28 points already; the Tangerines are looking up not down! Outside the top two tiers of English football for 29 years Blackpool FC's promotion to the Championship at Wembley was nothing short of incredible and they have revelled in their new found status amongst the big boys. Opening with a win at big-spending and highly fancied Leicester back in August the team tipped for a swift return to League One have confounded their critics and astounded their own supporters with some memorable performances during this momentous season. Putting five goals past Charlton four past Coventry three past Burnley have been highlights of a thoroughly fantastic season never mind Wes Hoolahan's incredible chip from the penalty spot at Deepdale. They always say the second season is the hardest but despite losing their manager Simon Grayson halfway through after 29 years away there was no way Pool were going to surrender their new found status. Always impressive on the road the Seasiders produced fantastic performances at Palace Plymouth Swansea and Birmingham as part of an incredible double at the Premier League bound Blues. And of course the sweetest form of revenge at neighbours and rivals Preston when Charlie was the 5000 tangerine clad supporters darling!
