The staff on this ward joke as they go about their daily tasks leaving humour and dignity to mix as it will. With a retrospective script deliberately allowing for improvisation by the actors Getting On is a comedy of characters doing the best they can in a situation we can all relate to; everyone has an elderly relative parent grandparent and difficult choices are the order of the day. It's the scene that awaits all of us - whether we like to admit it or not.
