Lady Vengeance (2005): The cinematic flair and narrative surprises that marked Park Chan-Wook's Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance and Oldboy continue in this third and concluding part of the director's thematically-linked trilogy of revenge. Intense and inventive the film follows the progress of beautiful impassive Lee Geum-ja (Lee Young-Ae) after she's released from prison having served 13 years for the kidnap and murder of a young boy. Once on the outside she hooks up with some former cellmates a preacher who thinks she's an angel the detective who originally arrested her and the daughter she gave up for adoption gathering around her all the people needed to carry out an elaborate plan of revenge. Her target is kindergarten teacher Mr. Baek (Oldboy star Choi Min-Sik) while her weapon(s)-of-choice are unexpected and highly personal. This is striking and ghoulishly entertaining stuff a highwire act poised between horror tragedy comedy and exploitation. With the aid of Oldboy Director of Photography Jeong Joeng-Hun who employs some neat tricks and brings a vibrant beauty to the dark proceedings Park ensures there's never a dull moment.

  Baywatch Hawaiian Reunion, like the 11-year television series itself, is a guilty pleasure short on story credibility but long on action, hardbody appeal, and hot passions. The hyperdrive plot finds Mitch Buchannon (David Hasselhoff), presumed dead at the end of season 10, alive and well and in love with a woman named Allison (Alexandra Paul), who bears a spooky resemblance to Mitch's late lover, Stephanie. Wedding plans that include the old Baywatch lifeguard crew (Pamela Anderson, Yasmine Bleeth, Billy Warlock, etc.) are set for Hawaii, but in a Wrath of Khan-like twist, a villain (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa) from the old show's second season turns up with an elaborate plan to kidnap and endanger Mitch's guests. The script is shameless, of course, but the outré element is fun to watch, including a subplot in which Mitch's former wife (Gena Lee Nolin)--suspicious of Allison's true motives--gets into a spectacular catfight with her ex's new lady.--Tom Keogh

Independent study and supplementary classes are done on homosexuality and transgenderism and teachers and students alike leave school early because of sexually-transmitted diseases. But amidst this environment there are some that just can't adapt. Among them: Poor Girl a student who earns money for her family by sleeping with older men; Anthony a luxurious prett-boy from Switzerland; One-Eye the school's sole virgin. Poor Girl falls in love with Anthony at first sight. Meanwhile Anthony is struck by One-Eye's brother Two Eyes and feels confused about his sexuality.
