Johnny has the opportunity to prove his bravery when Yankee spies steal his engine and inadvertently kidnap Annabelle, and Johnny pursues with all the resources at his disposal: handcar, bicycle and finally railroad engine. Keaton's love/hate relationship with technology and machinery shines as he becomes one with his beloved locomotive and wrestles with a finicky cannon that threatens to blow his engine off the tracks; with tremendous dexterity, he nails the humour with inimitably deadpan takes. Spunky Marion Mack makes a perfect partner for Keaton, not merely a foil but a gifted comedienne in her own right.   The Colgate Comedy Hour was an American comedy-musical variety television show that ran on the NBC network from October 1950 to December 1955. The show starred many notable comedians and light entertainers of the era including Eddie Cantor Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis Fred Allen Donald O'Connor Abbott and Costello Bob Hope Jimmy Durante and Gordon MacRae. Paired with Jerry Lewis forming the comedy team of Martin and Lewis the energetic duo quickly rose to national prominence first with their popular nightclub act and then as film stars in a string of movies for Paramount Pictures. The act broke up ten years later.

When King Harold (John Cleese) passes away, Shrek sets out with Donkey (Eddie Murphy) and Puss-in-Boots (Antonio Banderas) to find Arthur (Justin Timberlake), the only heir in line for the throne besides himself. Just as Shrek sets sail to find Artie (as Arthur is more commonly known), Fiona (Cameron Diaz) shocks Shrek with the news that she's pregnant. Soon after, Prince Charming (Rupert Everett) sends Captain Hook (Ian McShane) in pursuit of Shrek and imprisons Fiona and her fellow Princesses as part of his plan to install himself as King of Far, Far Away. Shrek finds an awkward Artie jousting with his high school classmate Lancelot (John Krasinski) and, while Artie is certainly no picture of kingliness, Shrek is determined to drag him back to Far, Far Away to assume the throne. Mishaps and comedy abound, including a spell gone wrong that locks Donkey and Puss-in-Boots inside one another's bodies. While Fiona and the other Princesses prove they're anything but helpless women, Artie and Shrek battle their own fears of inadequacy in a struggle to discover their own self-worth. In the end, Shrek, Artie, and Fiona each learn a lot about their individual strengths and what truly makes each of them happy.   Phishheads may be hard-pressed to define what they love about their idols, the Vermont-based jam Band Phish, but they know it when they see it--and hear it. Bittersweet Motel, the 2000 documentary by Todd Phillips, serves up exactly what they want: generous dollops of the bands free-form, jazz-laced music and by-the-numbers backstage glimpses of the musicians relaxing during rehearsals, between sets, and after hours. The 84-minute film follows a year in the life of the band, from the happening, called the Great Went, in Maine in August 1997 through the bands 1998 European tour (but inexplicably, the film begins with Europe and ends with the Great Went). Along the way, viewers are treated to long snatches of band favourites such as Wilson and Down with Disease. Affable singer-guitarist Trey Anastasio is the focus of most of the non-musical scenes, trying to explain the bands cult appeal, or griping about lunk-headed critics who are all too dismissive of the bands often-stellar virtuosity. Its clear that wearing the mantle of the Grateful Dead--especially since the 1995 death of Jerry Garcia--is a mixed blessing for Anastasio, who bristles in one interview about Dead comparisons. Phillips, who directed the fascinating but discredited documentary Frat House and the Tom Green vulgar-fest Road Trip, does have an eye for the absurdly comic, especially evident in the few scenes he features of stoner Phishheads, who follow the band from show to show.
