Jack Doyle (Morgan Freeman) and his ace detective Remy Bressant (Ed Harris) use all their resources to try and track the little girl down. With the police making no headway Patrick and Angela are bought in by Amanda's proud and virtuous aunt Bea to start their own investigation. As Patrick and Angela delve further down a path in to the dark heart of the neighbourhood they uncover an intensifying web of sordid lies and a labyrinthine maze of class corruption evil and innocence. With every clue or fact that is revealed tension mounts and much like Clint Eastwood's adaptation of Lehane's Mystic River Gone Baby Gone packs an emotionally powerful punch that keeps you ultimately involved and unaware of what is around the corner. By opting for a cast that consists of established and confident actors like Morgan Freeman and Ed Harris paired with real-life toughened Bostonians straight out of local pool-halls and clubs Ben Affleck has managed to portray the tough real feel of the streets of South Boston with natural grit and charm and has adapted Dennis Lehane's best-selling novel Gone Baby Gone in to a terrifying and intellectually engaging feature.

  Between heroic spells as the Saint and James Bond, Roger Moore was teamed with Tony Curtis in The Persuaders, a derivative but fun series about a couple of millionaire dilettante adventurers who swan around the world competing for the attention of beautiful women and getting involved in perplexing mysteries. Moore is Lord Brett Sinclair, an upper crust Brit of impeccable breeding, while Curtis is Danny Wilde, an up-from-the-streets self-made man whose trademark is a pair of brown gloves. The allegedly tasteful Brett and the crasser Danny both model a succession of garish early 70s fashions while their pursuits of duplicitous crumpet usually wind up with the women getting away and the heroes stuck with each other. Given all that, this may well be the most blatantly homoerotic of all the buddy television pairings (see the eponymous stars of Starsky and Hutch, Regan and Carter in The Sweeney, Bodie and Doyle of The Professionals) that ran ove! r the screen in the 70s, in which the male leads sublimated their feelings for each other by pulling out their guns and shooting at baddies. --Kim Newman

Sawyer stumbles upon a dolphin that's been severely injured, becomes fascinated by dolphins, and is suddenly intellectually engaged like never before. In spite of his shyness, he forms a friendship with marine rescue doctor Clay (Harry Connick Jr.) and his daughter Hazel (Cozi Zuehlsdorff) and, more importantly, a special and very powerful bond with the rescued dolphin, who's dubbed Winter. As the newly formed team struggles to save Winter's life and ensure her continued safety, financial concerns, an accident that leaves Kyle crippled for life, and a hurricane all seem to join forces against them. In the end, it is Sawyer's determination, coupled with a little bit of luck and a lot of ingenuity from an army doctor (Morgan Freeman) who specializes in prosthetics, that helps make each member of the team, including Kyle and Winter, whole again. The talented cast does a great job of creating completely believable characters, but Gamble, Zuehlsdorff, Connick, Freeman, Stowell, and of course Winter, who plays herself, all deserve special mention. While the story of an injured animal rescued and rehabilitated has certainly been told before, this film is emotionally powerful and will absolutely captivate children and adults alike.
