Former Dru-Hill front man Sisqo scored his biggest solo global hit in 2000 with the catchy but also highly suggestive, "Thong Song". While worldwide pop video audiences were subjected to watching "censored" versions of the songs video, various uncut versions of the promo were made available to selected adult audiences. As you would expect with such a title, The Thong Son--Uncensored exposes these X-rated versions of the video. Even more predictable is the content of these videos--yet more footage of big bosomed women in thongs, shaking their butts at the camera. Even though such imagery may be titillating to some, it becomes rather tiresome watching different angles of the same glam blondes and brunettes strutting their stuff. Judging by the repetitive nature of these recordings it will only probably appeal to die-hard fans who viewed "The Thong Song" as the smartest, sexiest pop video ever. Viewing is made even more tiresome by excerpts of an interview with Sisqo, where you can see and hear the true ranting arrogance of the star. Luckily the release is livened up by the inclusion of other Sisqo and Dru-Hill videos--including "How Deep Is Your Love" (taken from the "Rush Hour" soundtrack) and "You Are Everything". The visual structure of these videos are just as formulaic as "The Thong Song", and continue the on-going Sisqo obsession of sex, cars, guns and girls. On The DVD: Designed primarily for the American audience, the picture quality and graphics especially on the selection menu is particularly poor. There are no additional extras on the DVD and the sound and picture are presented in standard format. The five video versions of the "Thong Song", along with the other additional videos can be accessed individually from the main menu, or can be viewed as part of a 67-minute feature on Sisqo. The features consist of short biographical excerpts from selected interviews with the artist. --John Galilee
