Each time a Mission Impossible film arrives on the scene, the tone is always different, which is always refreshing to see in a movie franchise that resists the trap of falling into 'same content, different title' category!
Considering the first Mission Impossible film was released 11 years ago, its strange to think that there have been only 2 additions to the franchise since (another well known spy has had 4 in that time and considering that there was a 4 year wait for the latest one!)
Tom Cruise plays the ultra cool spy Ethan Hunt and manages to find an opportunity to put a different spin on the character with each film, the 1st one shows a slightly cocky, but understated Hunt, the 2nd showing the 'superhero' type Hunt who hangs off sheer cliff faces for fun! and the 3rd where he's in love and seeming almost afraid of getting in the field for fear of getting killed -of course he still kicks sizeable butt and finds 5 mins to tandem swing between 2 high rise buildings in the process!
I have no particular favourite as each one is a different kind of spy film, just revolving around the same person, which brings something different to the table.
So if you're in the mood for sitting back and watching the best that Hollywood action blockbusters have to offer, you can rarely find nowhere better than kicking back and following the antics of one Ethan Hunt....this review will self-destruct in 5 seconds...
