In this adaptation of Jack London's classic tale the story of Buck the dog moves to 40 Mile Alaska. This mining town is home to Miles Challenger a strong-willed teenager. Miles is a bit earnest and naive but he is determined to make it as a guide to townsfolk. After Miles saves Buck he and his beloved dog are inseparable. In return Buck saves townsfolk prospectors and visitors and helps miles do the same. Miles has to deal with a crazy cast of characters in the wild town. He lives with the rugged John Thornton the trader who once owned Buck. He meets up with Stanton... a spoilt preppy city slicker. He has a crush on Emma the hotel manger and finds a friend in Mercedes the bartender and only actress in town.
