Set in the beautiful Welsh valleys a corrupt Parish council have used an award of EU funds earmarked for cultural development in the town to fund a host of illicit activities - a swimming pool 45 crates of champagne several visits to Amsterdam's red light district etc. A surprise visit from the EU Cultural Commissioner forces them to hastily put on a performance of MACBETH ( because it is Shakespeare's shortest play) to be performed in Brussels before assorted EU dignitaries. Comedy directed by Matt Lipsey. When a corrupt parish council in rural Wales is awarded EU funding to pay for the cultural development of their town, the councillors embezzle the money on foreign holidays, home improvements and copious quantities of champagne. However, they soon live to regret their short-lived halcyon period when they are unexpectedly visited by the EU Cultural Commissioner and asked to produce one of the great Shakespearean plays for a highbrow festival in Brussels.
