1970s cult British horror set in the 1920s. Talbot (Larry Dan) and Duller (Vivian Mackerell) are invited for a weekend's shooting at the large Victorian mansion of their former public schoolmate McFadden (Murray Melvin). Talbot soon begins experiencing hallucinations that transport him to another time, where he is haunted by the ordeals of a former resident (Marianne Faithfull). Over the coming days, with the visions becoming ever more real and vivid, the friends are drawn into a terrifyingly surreal world of demonic dolls, sadistic doctors and madness, from which there appears to be no escape.
