Based on Cecily Von Ziegesar's teen novels Gossip Girl follows the lives of the teenagers who attend an elite private school in New York City. The privileged prep school teens discover the latest on friendships relationships and jealousy in their complex world of Manhattan's Upper East Side from the blog of the all-knowing yet utterly secretive Gossip Girl.
I absolutely love Gossip Girl, I fell in love with it as soon as I started watching it and bought the DVD as soon as it was out. Since then it's become half price, but oh well, it's got everything you want in a TV series, the drama, the comedy, the cliff-hangers and the person everyone loves to hate. I would highly recommend people to buy this. Although I love to watch TV, I did prefer to watch this one episode after another, it's a great American TV show, but one of the main characters is from England, this makes me love it even more! I give this show a 9/10 rating.
Well Gossip Girl, where do i start. It has 8 main characters in it, some including Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford and Kristen Bell. These are some brilliant actor/actresses. I very big fan of "The Sisterhood Of The Travelling Pants", well it has the same actress from that called Blake Lively.
This was shown on ITV 2 when it aired and was a huge success with me and with the rest of the country Im sure.
The story line stays the same throughout the whole series, they have some killer storylines, literally in some cases.
There is some good characters, and i cant say that i can relate to the character because i am not rich and live in the Upper East side of New York. But i can relate to them being a teenager like me struggling in the world.
In Gossip Girl, the series, there is many things that go on in the school Constance, such as pool partys, sleepovers, truth or dare, and of course there is a bitch in the shape of Blair Woldorf followed by her crew of loyal followers all compeating to become the Queen Bee.
Her Best friend Serena, went away for a while because she done a bad thing, but then she came back and became Blair's best friend again. When she came back, she found someone else too in the form of a boy, A Lonely Boy From Brooklyn.
But when long lost friend came back sending gifts for Serena, then trouble wasnt to far away when it involves Georgina Sparks. This was the reason why Serena had left but this one girl made her afriad of telling Serena's Secret to the world, but the bad girl always gets defeted by the bitch on the scene. "I'm the only bitch around here".
An upsetting season finalle following the break-up of Serena and Lonely Boy Dan.
But back next year.
xoxo
Gossip Girl.
P.S It is a brilliant series one for the chick flicks...
The Parents Television Council described this show as 'mind-blowingly inappropriate' - a quote that the show has subsequently used in its advertising campaigns - and rightly so, rather than being 'inappropriate' this show is up-to-date and relevant to its teen audience. The cast is impeccable and the soundtrack is fantastic. The writing is witty and it is full of drama - perfect for fans of trashy American teen shows, the great thing about GG is that it doesn't pretend to be anything else. I think what makes the show are the amazing costumes designed by Eric Daman, which really bring the characters to life, from Chuck Bass' signature scarf to Blair Waldorf's headbands. Despite being set amongst the privileged lives of the Upper East Side kids it still manages to deal with issues that all teens go through, without taking its self too seriously and going a bit 'Dawson's Creek'. This DVD is a must for fans of the show, with added extras such as the gag reel (so, so funny) and a behind the scenes look at how the show is made. Worth every penny.
