Joe Dirt (David Spade) is an eternally optimistic, mullet-wearing janitor who lost his parents during a trip to the Grand Canyon when he was just a little boy, and has subsequently dedicated his life to finding them. When his search brings him to Los Angeles, a big city shock-jock invites Joe onto his radio show to laugh at his backwater ways, but as Joe's story unfolds the good people of LA can't help but fall for the little guy's plucky charm. Soon everyone is cheering Joe on as he struggles against the odds to find the family he's always wanted.
