Stan and Ollie join the Foreign Legion so Ollie can forget an unhappy romance. Once in though the pay is so bad that they are soon trying to desert but are caught and condemned to death. They manage to escape and hide in a plane until the coast is clear whereupon they attempt to fly off with hilarious results.
