Laurel and Hardy star as a pair of fishmongers from Des Moines Iowa who join the Foreign Legion while on a visit to Paris. Within a few days they are in uniform and on laundry detail at an outpost in Morocco and soon find that the tough Commander and Legion life does not suit them. They are arrested for trying desert and escape the firing squad by stealing a plane in a hilarious and exciting climax.
