The story of the life of Andy Kaufman, the eccentric comedian who was best known as the mechanic Latka in the sitcom 'Taxi'.

Jim Carrey stars in Milos Forman's biopic about the highly controversial comedian Andy Kaufman. Kaufman was famous not only for his outrageous stand-up comedy routines, and as the self-declared World Inter-Gender Wrestling Champion, but also as the lovable mechanic Latka in the top 1980s comedy series 'Taxi'. Forman's film tells the story of Kaufman's life, art and career, and features Courtney Love as the comedian's girlfriend Lynne Marguiles, and Danny DeVito as his manager George Shapiro.
