Comedy double. 'Napoleon Dynamite' (2004) is written and directed by Jared Hess. In Preston, Idaho, the high school is launching the elections for class president. Napoleon Dynamite (Jon Heder) is the school geek, brutalised by the jocks, stuck living with an eccentric grandmother and an internet-obsessed older brother, and best friends with the newest kid in class, Pedro (Efren Ramirez), a Mexican immigrant. Napoleon conceives the idea of getting Pedro to run for class president, and he's prepared to use any means necessary to win against evil teen-queen Summer Wheatly (Haylie Duff). 'Hot Rod' (2007) follows an amateur stuntman's convoluted attempts to win the respect of his stepfather. When his stepfather Frank (Ian McShane) needs an urgent transplant to save his life, inept stuntman Rod Kimble (Andy Samberg) decides to jump the big one (15 buses) in an attempt to raise enough money for the operation. Rod has an ulterior motive though, hoping Frank's recovery will give him one more chance to defeat him in a fight, thereby earning the tough old boot's respect.
