Made-for-television film comedy starring Ryan Reynolds. It has become something of a tradition for a member of the Warner family to win the student-elected Teacher of the Year Award and the weight of expectation now hangs on the shoulders of Matt Warner (David Paymer), after the death of his father. However, the arrival of a new teacher means that the competition is going to be fierce this year. Mr D'Angelo (Reynolds) is youthful, amusing and instantly popular with the kids. He quickly wins over the students and staff with his unconventional but inspirational teaching methods and his sympathetic way with the children. This soon makes him leading contender for Teacher of the Year. Matt Warner soon becomes so obsessed with discrediting Mr D'Angelo and winning that award that he starts forgetting what it means to be a teacher.
