There isn't many programmes that have the ability to provoke so many emotional responses in a single episode, and SFU does it with such grace and poignancy, that you really start to feel a connection with these characters.
That is why the final season is such a masterpiece and exhausting to watch. The final episode is so upsetting that if you've watched the whole series, like me, you'll feel bereaved. This series stayed with me for months and I haven't found another series yet to match the brilliance of Six Feet Under!!!.....i'll keep looking!!
The last 15 minutes is the best ending of all time. Original, simple and amazing with a great soundtrack from Sia, Breathe Me (if you are looking for it). This show is a must see.
Having survived 4 seasons in the american ratings system, it is clear the type of quality that six feet under has come to be famous for. In this, the fifth and final year in the lives of the fisher family (The family of undertakers this series revolves around) one can honestly say that the writing, stories and performances are of the standard that all Tv series of this genre have been trying to re-create. With a wit and originality that still survives from the first ever series all those years ago, and a dream cast pulling in oscar-worthy performances, six feet under is still a truly worthy addition to any tv lovers collection, and, with this boxset being the last ever episodes of this much-loved show, it certainly is a must for dvd collectors.
