Political espionage thriller directed by Bill Condon and starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Australian publisher and journalist Julian Assange. The film shows how Assange and the others in his WikiLeaks team have disclosed a large volume of state secrets and classified information through their website in the hopes of informing the public of their government's true nature. Most notoriously, the group published a video of the indiscriminate killing of over a dozen people in Iraq by the US military in 2010 with the help of intelligence analyst-turned whistleblower Bradley Manning. But through this decision Assange and his colleagues were made enemies of the state and forced to consider whether their actions were justifiable or if the cost of full disclosure is too high...
