All six episodes from the first series of the Lynda La Plante thriller, set in a maximum security prison. Janet McTeer plays Helen Hewitt, the female prison warden trying to assert her authority in what is seen as a man's world, while at the same time trying to deal with the many day-to-day problems of running the prison. In this series, Hewit has to deal with the fall-out of an apparent suicide, innumerable escape attempts, and the trial of two prisoners accused of murder, while trying to hold on to her job in the face of an upcoming Prison Services inspection.
