Asia Argento stars as detective Anna Manni, on the trail of a serial killer and rapist. Unfortunately, she suffers from the Stendhal Syndrome, a mental disorder causing hallucinations whenever the sufferer comes into contact with works of art. The killer discovers Manni's condition, and uses it to make her insane. Even when she thinks she has finally tracked him down and dealt with him, his taunts continue, and so do the murders.
