Tudor Rose - Digitally Remastered DVD

| DVD

A dramatization of Lady Jane Grey's short life, from her forced marriage (which she resisted) to her brief reign as monarch of England and finally to her beheading. The film portrays her as an innocent set up for the slaughter while the scheming courtiers and pretenders to the throne barely pay her mind, as they stab each other in the back in their attempts to gain power and influence.

Robert Stevenson directs this British drama starring Cedric Hardwicke, Nova Pilbeam and John Mills. The film depicts the life of Lady Jane Grey (Pilbeam) from her forced marriage, to her being named as the successor to the English throne by King Henry VIII (Frank Cellier) and the events of her brief reign before she was charged with high treason and beheaded.
