William A. Seiter directs this classic musical starring Rita Hayworth and Fred Astaire. Maria Acuna (Hayworth) is the daughter of hotelier Edwardo (Adolphe Menjou), who wishes her to marry poste haste. Maria believes that no man can match her high standards, so Edwardo invents a fake admirer, sending his daughter flowers and love notes. When penniless American dancer Robert Davis (Fred Astaire) delivers the latest of Edwardo's gifts, Maria believes him to be her mystery suitor.
