It's 1953, and Sidney Chambers (James Norton) is vicar of Grantchester, a village just outside Cambridge. Sidney's is a quiet life. Or at least, it has been right up until the moment that murder comes his way... In Series One Sidney is pushed into the dangerous world of lies, betrayal and murder and quickly finds that his insight into the human condition, and the natural trust that he engenders in people, means that he excels in his new position as detective . But crime isn't the only matter that occupies Sidney. He's smitten with the witty, beautiful Amanda (Morven Christie), but could high society Amanda ever be allowed to marry a lowly country vicar? Series Two sees Sidney himself wrongly accused of a terrible crime and unmasking the real culprit will send shockwaves through the community. Joining Sidney as he journeys into this dark world is the affable but world-weary Detective Inspector Geordie Keating (Robson Green), the naive, but well-meaning curate Leonard Finch (Al Weaver), and his austere and constantly disapproving housekeeper Mrs Maguire (Tessa Peake-Jones).

One of the most critically acclaimed shows in TV history Homicide: Life On The Street re-invigorated a tired genre by focusing on the grueling work of solving murders instead of an endless succession of bloody crimes and car chases. Inspired by David Simon's Edgar Award-winning account of Baltimore homicide detectives and brought to television by director Barry Levinson (Diner) writer Paul Attanasio (Gideon's Crossing) Homicide boasted a powerhouse cast featuring Ned Beatty (Deliverance) Yaphet Kotto (Alien) Richard Belzer (Law & Order: SVU) and breakout star Andre Braugher (Frequency). The critical response was overwhelming: Homicide won multiple Emmy and Writer's Guild of America Awards and is one of just two shows in history to claim three Peabody Awards. This DVD includes all episodes of the sixth season!

Five hundred years ago, a revolutionary priest changed the face of Christendom. Risking his life and academic reputation and facing damnation for his beliefs he challenged the teachings of the all-powerful Catholic Church and the Western World was never to be the same again. Marking the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, this stunning two-part drama from the makers of Deutschland 83 and Generation War captures the story of Martin Luther, the visionary reformer who changed the beliefs of society at a time when the Catholic Church dominated every aspect of public opinion and private life. From passionate speeches railing against corruption and oppression to sweeping battle scenes and compelling moments of intimacy, Reformation charts key events and figures in Luther's story, offering a parallel to our contemporary political situation in the form of vividly authentic historical drama. • Popstars - The Video [2001]Popstars - The Video | DVD | (02/04/2001) from £N/A   |  Saving you £N/A (N/A%)   |  RRP £14.99

Popstars was a self-perpetuating roller-coaster of a phenomenon, --television, marketing and music coming together in an unprecendented frenzy of hype. The warts-and-all formation of a pop band made high-rating television and so the release of a Popstars video begs the question, what more can we possibly learn about them? The official Popstars video tells Hear'say's story with a satisfying blend of footage from the programmes and exclusive, never seen before interviews with each band member. In these relaxed segments, they talk about how they see themselves, each other and their situation and discuss how the press has treated them. Follow the judges as they visit 10 cities in 6 weeks for the first round of auditions, experiencing the highs and the lows, the talented... and the really untalented. As judge Nigel Lythgoe says, "it's a bit like pearl-diving". The footage of hopefuls crossing the 'green mile' to find out whether they're in or out doesn't have the tension of the first viewing when we didn't know who would survive to the next round, but it is fascinating in hindsight. Obviously condensing the series down to a running time of two hours will mean missing some of the moments we remember and this means omitting characters such as the interesting chap who saw the band as a springboard to Hollywood and thence into politics and Presidency of the USA. Having said that, there is still a fair smattering of the rejects who have gone on to be z-list celebrities, and interviews with those who nearly made it, like Jessica and Tony. Revisit--if you can bear to--the 'wise' words of Darius ("how much love is there in this room?") and all the intensity of the gruelling audition process, which must already seem like a world away to the winners. Popstars the video ends with the newly-chosen five settling into their luxury home, still at the relative beginning of their surreal adventure in fame. A must for Popstars and Hear'say fans, the video definitely adds to the Popstars experience and with the benefit of hindsight it certainly is interesting to watch the early auditions of the five who made it. --Rachel Ediss
