The East Coast of England was served by the railways that came together in 1923 to form the London and North Eastern Railway one of the greatest railway companies of all time. Renowned for its famous named trains such as the Flying Scotsman the Silver jubilee and the Queen of Scots amongst others the LNER built a succession of legendary Pacific steam locomotives to the designs of Sir Nigel Gresley many of which were named after racehorses. By contrast the LNERs railways in East Anglia were built to serve a land which has changed little over the years and the railways reflected this timeless appeal. In this programme we see in images recorded over the last decade the survivors of the LNER era still at work on the lines for which they were built.
A box set of titles featuring a look into the world of steam.

A formative part of many childhoods and the definitive television adaptation of the Daily Express's much-loved cartoon strip, The Adventures of Rupert Bear was a massively successful puppet series by Mary Turner and John Read. Featuring the most singable theme tune in television history, the series captivated a generation of younger viewers and cemented Rupert's popularity forever. Each episode saw the colourfully attired little bear enjoying a host of fantastic adventures with his friends, including Bill Badger, Edward Trunk, Podgy Pig, Algy Pug and ill-tempered twig-creature Raggety with his flying go-kart often taking him to strange, faraway lands before whisking him back to his mother and father's house in Nutwood just in time for tea! 156 episodes were made over four series with more than half previously believed to be either lost or held on an inferior format. Thankfully, the original film materials have now been unearthed and new transfers made for this release. This volume contains the 52 episodes from series three.
A journey into the captivating world of the caravan. Many regard them merely as a convenient way of bringing the A330 to a total standstill in the rain sodden months the British laughingly call summer; merely a mobile receptacle for awkward teenagers to argue over a badminton set... Not anymore! The Caravan Show alters this old stereotype and endeavours to show the nation that the caravan is something that they can grow to love. These unique programmes humorously show
Disc 1 - Ferocious Floods: Witness the fury of nature unleashed with this visually stunning DVD from the Untamed Earth series. Featuring on-the-scene footage from some of the world's worst natural disasters and powerful testimony from actual survivors 'Ferocious Floods' takes you inside this lethal phenomenon like never before. You'll see the devastating effects of flash floods and experience the inspiring tales of the survivors and their heroic rescuers. You'll learn the latest techniques used by scientists and everyday people in their battle against natural catastrophes from Texas to China. Disc 2 - Avalanche: Against a montage of cascading snow hurtling down from jagged mountains tops we are reminded that avalanches are among the most lethal weapons in nature's arsenal. Avalanches of glowing red lava and hot ash erupt from volcanoes swirling with noxious fumes that poison the atmosphere. Avalanches of rock rush like water destroying everything in their path. With the use of stunning footage and harrowing personal tales this DVD reveals the mechanisms by which these forces of nature wreak havoc. Disc 3 - Wild Winds: Few natural sights compare to the awesome display of power seen when a tornado touches down and causes mayhem through a field or town. With the force to toss cars like children's toys and relocate a house in minutes hurricanes and tornadoes produce the fastest winds on earth. This DVD explains how these freaks of weather are formed and what scientists know about them. Extensive footage from 'storm chasers' interviews with eyewitnesses and home-video make compelling viewing as winds up to 300mph tear across the screen.
