Iron Man (2 Disc Edition)

From Marvel Studios and Paramount Pictures comes Iron Man, an adrenaline-fuelled superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. The film is directed by Jon Favreau and stars Robert Downey Jr as billionaire philanthropist Tony Stark. Whilst Stark is in Afghanistan demonstrating the ultimate Jericho missile, which his company created, he is attacked, seriously wounded and captured. His kidnappers want him to create a super-missile for them, but instead he secretly creates an armoured suit to escape the cave and to prevent his death from the shrapnel left in his chest from the attack.

After his abduction he decides to stop manufacturing weapons in his company, but finds out that his second in command, Obadiah Stane, has other plans and has been selling Stark weapons to the insurgents. Stark realises that he must once again don his suit in order to stop the villains, destroy the arms and save the world.

This is another film version of a classic comic book. Not all film versions of comic books have been very good but this one is one of the best. It's a sexy action movie with a good amount of comedy thrown in. I am not an action movie fan but I loved this and I think the added comedy helped win me over. It's a fun film and should keep the hardcore fans of the comic books happy too. Well worth a watch!

"Iron Man" was one of the more eagerly anticipated comic book adaptations of recent years, starring Robert Downey Jnr. as Tony Stark, arms magnate. Kidnapped, tortured and forced to build a super rocket for terrorists in the Middle East, Stark rebels against his captors and, once he rescues himself, his past life. (Now he has seen what his weapons really do.) This does not, however, go unopposed. "Iron Man" is a comic book, and film that has a moral view, rather unlike "300", for example, embedded in the real world. This, for me, is what sets the movie apart from other films like it. However, Stark response to his reborn ethics has disappointingly little impact on what he does. He still makes weapons, and might is still right, especially now it is directed against the correct people. I am not saying that that is wrong per se (just less interesting than the alternatives), and it does make for an entreating action film. Just not much more. And the action is good, exciting and, much like a James Bond film, directed against the evils of capitalism, and in the case of "Iron Man", at least superficially, imperialism. Almost all good ... and well worth a watch if you like action movies

This Film in one word is AMAZING. If I could finish this review there and say I'd be happy I would be lying this film deserves a outstanding review and I'm here to try my best to give that outstanding review. Where to Start????

Tony Stark(IRON MAN) played by Robert Downey Jr, is absolutly amazing playing this character, he is probably I can think the only person that could play Tony Stark and make him really cool which he is.

Obadiah Stane (Bad Guy) played by Jeff Bridges is great as a bad guy, he plays this role great and is able to pull this off, it is great to see how Obadiah Stane becomes jealous of Tony stark and his Iron Man suit this is what drives him to become the bad guy.

Rhodey (friend/Army officer) played by Terrence Howard is a friend of Tony Starks and offers the humour to the film and also makes this film more enjoyable. The humour between Tony and Rhodey feels real and is portrayed in the film with great acting which is just great to watch.

Pepper Pots (Tony Starks assaintant) played by Gwyneth Paltrow is great to watch. She portrays the chracter of Pots exactly how she is in the comics, and the chemistry between her and Robert is great and again makes the film more enjoyable.

The great thing about this film is when watching this film is doesn't feel 2 hours long because this film is enjoyable to watch. Another thing in this film is that you feel that they have spend the exact time needed for every part of this film from how tony gets his EMP heart to the development to the first to the third suit and the time needed for the final fight.

This film is absolutely amazing and especially the suit is exactly the same in the comic and the special effects and the sheer work of the people and ind light and magic make the suit look real and truly believeable.

This is a great buy and great Christmas present for anyone and definately a must have. Highly recommended.
